Men have a tendency to eat very rapidly. The problem with eating so quickly is that your stomach hardly has time to signal your brain that you are full. This process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Eating too quickly causes you to consume more calories than your body needs. These calories will eventually be stored as fat. Here are a couple of suggestions to slow your eating pace. Try them during your next meal.

Chew your food at least 20 times with every bite. Put your fork or spoon down while chewing. If you are eating foods with your hands, like a sandwich, put the food down between bites.Intentionally take your time between bites by getting a drink of water. Another trick men can use to slow their eating rate is to turn off the T.V. or put down the newspaper. After using these techniques, eating slowly will become second nature.
